We met up with photographer Heather Howard and asked her to share with us a Photo Tip.
“Meter! I meter all the time while shooting. When using film, be sure to overexpose. I usually overexpose one stop.
I use a Sekonic 508 and expose for the shadows.
I’ll either change the ISO on my meter to one stop over, or with my meter, I’ll keep the bulb in and tilt it 45 degrees to overexpose.”
Thank you Heather! We love her eye and the way she is able to capture the beauty in every subject she shoots.
If you don’t have a meter we thought there must be an app for a light meter, so a quick search found Pocket Light Meter – We haven’t had a chance to try it out yet but, would love to know what you think if you have!
